As part of its participation in National Tree Week stc Bahrain announces the completion of greening its headquarters through a special event for its employees
Manama, Bahrain, 5 November 2024:In alignment with its commitment to supporting the initiatives of the National Action Plan to achieve carbon neutrality, as announced by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who launched National Tree Week to be held annually in the third week of October, stc Bahrain, a digital enabler, took part in the National Tree Week events by completing the greening of its headquarters. The celebration, held at the company’s premises, included the distribution of Trees to employees, featuring species such as Neem, Melingtonia, Yellow Tabebuia, Acacia, Bougainvillea, and more. Additionally, stc Bahrain extended its efforts to the Southern Governorate area, planting and distributing native seedlings across various areas, with the total number of trees planted and distributed on this day exceeding five thousand.
On this occasion, Sh. Zeyad Al Khalifa, Chief Government Affairs Officer commented: "At stc Bahrain, we reaffirm our strong commitment to supporting national initiatives aimed at environmental protection and sustainable development, including our launch of the Trees for Life project. Our participation in National Tree Week reflects this commitment and our belief in the importance of afforestation to create a healthy and sustainable environment for future generations."
This participation underscores stc Bahrain's active contribution to achieving national goals for expanding green areas and supporting Bahrain's national afforestation initiatives, with the company's ongoing commitment to raising awareness about environmental preservation and fostering a sustainable future for Bahrain.
The company is well-regarded as a leader in this field through its "Trees for Life" campaign, launched in 2021 in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Environment and with support from the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs, and Urban Planning, which is considered one of the largest national afforestation campaigns in Bahrain.
