Postpaid and Prepaid Voice customers can enjoy Voice Over Wi-Fi Calling free of charge, provided that they have a Wi-Fi Calling enabled smartphone. The service is currently applicable to select Huawei & Samsung smartphones & will soon be available on smartphones by other leading brands too. Do note that as a customer, you will be required to update your smartphone to the latest OS version to enjoy this service.

Q4) Are calls made over Wi-Fi Calling charged at the same rate as normal call?
- Yes, Voice Over Wi-Fi is treated exactly the same as a regular call.

- Customers must have the following requirements:
- Access to internet over Wi-Fi
- A Wi-Fi calling-enabled smartphone
- Latest OS needs to be installed
- Wi-Fi Calling should be switched on
- For a seamless experience you should keep both VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling switched on
Q6) What happens if Wi-Fi gets disconnected between the call?
- The call will switch over to VoLTE and there will be a seamless handover. If VoLTE is not switched on, the call will drop.
Q7) What happens if I move away from the router during the call?
- As long as the Router can provide a quality call, the call will remain on Wi-Fi. If you move very far away from the router, the call will switch over to VoLTE and there will be a seamless handover. If VoLTE is not switched on, the call will drop.
Q8) How do I know if the call is going through Wi-Fi?
- You can verify a Wi-Fi Call by looking for a unique symbol shown on your handset during a Wi-Fi Call. You will not see the Wi-Fi Call symbol during a normal cellular call.
Q9) Will Wi-Fi Calling work on all broadband/Wi-Fi or only stc broadband?
- The service is live for all broadband and Wi-Fi hotspots. You can connect to any Wi-Fi source and enjoy the service.
Q10) Can I use Wi-Fi Calling while roaming?
- No, the service is available only for use locally in Bahrain.
Q11) Can I use Wi-Fi calling for making international calls?
- Yes, Wi-Fi Calling can be used to make an international call. Regular call charges will be applied.
