Interested in more than one of our subscription services? With Premium Messaging, we charge you a premium flat rate rather than the normal SMS rate so that you can make use of several subscriptions at the lowest possible cost. Then we either bill the amount to your postpaid account or deduct it from your prepaid credit. The programs currently on offer include Sports Club, Winners Club and Cricket Club.

Our Premium Messaging service is available for daily, weekly and monthly subscriptions, on-demand services on TV and radio, and [subscriptions calculated according to frequency]. The service is both activated and terminated via Short Codes so you can opt in and out without any hassle.

How do I get started?

You opt in or out of specific Premium Messaging services using keywords. Keywords are valid commands that are sent within the message body and addressed to a particular short code. Examples are as follows:

Opt-In: ON

Opt-Out: OFF
 

How much will I be charged?

Premium Messages are charged at a premium rate rather than normal peer-to-peer SMS rates.

For subscription services:

  • You may be charged  based on the mobile originated( MO)  request to subscribe to a daily, weekly or monthly subscription service, OR
  • You may be charged based on the mobile terminated (MT)  content pushed basis certain frequency.  

The charges differ depending on the service type and category. For on-demand services (TV, Radio, competitions and voting) you will be charged based on the on-demand method. The moment you send a message to the corresponding short code you will be charged for the same message. There are no recurring charges.

How can I activate or opt-in for a Premium Messaging Service?

Each service has its own activation or opt-in command along with its corresponding short code. You can activate the service by sending the command via SMS to the designated short code of the service.

Example: SMS ON to 9xxxxx.

How can I deactivate or opt-out from a Premium Messaging Service?

Each service has its own de-activation or opt out command along with its corresponding short code.You can deactivate the service by sending a command via SMS to the relevant short code of the service.

Example: SMS OFF to 9xxxxx.

How much will I be charged for the service?

The service charge varies from one service to another depending on the subscription type and the type of service you choose.

How frequently will I get SMS/MMS alerts?

The frequency of SMS alerts will depend on the service you have chosen. For example: if you've selected the weather service you'll receive daily alerts, whereas for a breaking news service, you will receive a SMS alert whenever the latest news breaks.
